FAQs

General NextLeap Questions

What is NextLeap Skincare?

NextLeap is a clean, effective skincare brand featuring formulas driven by tranexamic acid that target skin concerns such as discoloration, skin tone, UV damage and cold sore care.

What does tranexamic acid do for my skin?

Tranexamic acid helps improve the appearance of discoloration, lines and
wrinkles, uneven tone, and visible redness. It also supports skin’s response to
irritation and environmental stress, which can contribute to a more even,
calm-looking complexion.

Is tranexamic acid safe for daily use?

Yes, tranexamic acid is generally well tolerated for daily use and suitable for most skin types, including sensitive skin. It
does not increase sun sensitivity like some exfoliating acids.

Can tranexamic acid be used with retinol or vitamin C?

Yes. Tranexamic acid is compatible with most common skincare actives, including retinol, vitamin C, niacinamide, and
hyaluronic acid. It is often used to help balance irritation associated with
stronger actives.

How long does tranexamic acid take to work?

Visible improvements in skin tone and clarity typically appear within 4–8
weeks of consistent use, although some users notice earlier improvements in
skin clarity, brightness and hydration.

Is tranexamic acid only for dark spots?

No. While commonly used for discoloration, tranexamic acid also helps
support skin barrier function, collagen preservation and reduces visible
redness. New research suggests it may also play a role in calming
inflammation-related skin concerns.

Can tranexamic acid help with irritated or stressed skin?

Tranexamic acid may help reduce visible signs of irritation by supporting
the skin’s natural balance and calming pathways involved in redness and
sensitivity.

Can tranexamic acid be used on cold sores?

Tranexamic acid has been studied for its role in inhibiting various skin responses involving inflammation, collagen breakdown and hyperpigmentation. NextLeap Cold Sore Care is designed to support the skin during these events.

NextLeap Glow

What is NextLeap Glow Serum best for?

NextLeap Glow helps to fade hyperpigmentation, melasma, acne marks, and redness—while improving texture, hydration, and firmness. Ideal for dull, uneven, sun damaged or mature skin.

How is NextLeap Glow Serum different from other tranexamic acid products?

NextLeap Glow's patented formula utilizes ultra-pure tranexamic acid as well as other complementary ingredients such as copper peptides and niacinamide which are designed not only for cosmetic improvement but also to support broader skin health pathways, including those involved in inflammation and environmental stress responses.

Can I use this with other actives like retinol or vitamin C?

Yes, Glow can be used as an alternative or a complement to retinol and vitamin C. But beginners to retinol, Vitamin C or sensitive skin types should alternate use in the beginning to acclimate the skin.

When will I see results?

Some see brighter, more even skin within 2–4 weeks (approx 1 tube); noticeable improvements in dark spots after 6–12 weeks of consistent use.

Will it make my skin peel or purge?

This serum isn’t an exfoliant like AHAs or retinol, so peeling is unlikely.

When is it best to use NextLeap Glow?

Glow can be used morning or night or both. A great practice is to follow it with your favorite moisturizer.

What’s the texture like?

Lightweight, fast-absorbing cream that layers well under other products.

NextLeap Cold Sore Care

Why is Cold Sore Care such an important advance?

Because cold sores ( a.k.a fever blisters, herpes outbreaks) are not life-threatening, it been a neglected area with no significant new products in over 20 years. And the old products never worked that well for many people! The new “cosmetic” approach of NextLeap promises to bring relief to many who have been searching a long time.

Do I need to use NextLeap Cold Sore Care underneath (prior to) another product?

No, it works well on its own. But you may see good results by layering it under Abreva or other favored cold sore topicals.

What if I don’t use another cold sore product now?

There are many cold sore products easily available. The most commonly used is Abreva®, or its generic equivalent Docosanol 10%, which do not require a prescription. Zovirax® cream, or generic acyclovir cream, is the most common topical antiviral product used against cold sores, but it requires a prescription. There are a number of other good products available online or at the drugstore that will also work well with NextLeap Cold Sore Care.

(“Abreva” and “Zovirax” are trademarks of the GSK group of companies.)

Cold Sore Care seems expensive for the amount of product?

We priced NextLeap similar to the cost of the double tubes of Abreva® which together contain the same amount of product as a NextLeap Cold Sore Care tube. The cost of Zovirax®/acyclovir cream and other prescription products is much higher. The inexpensive products that treat symptoms, like pain or itching, don’t address the key issue of resolving the appearance of the cold sore.

Why is Cold Sore Care better for use against cold sores than other skin discoloration products that contain Tranexamic Acid?

The complete answer to this question is a trade secret. But we can say that NextLeap Cold Sore Care has been specifically formulated to address issues related to cold sores or fever blisters. In addition, it has been formulated and tested for compatibility with other cold sore treatments, for those who want to use NextLeap underneath them.

How do I apply NextLeap Cold Sore Care?

Users typically will apply with a clean cotton swab to avoid spreading the infection by touching it.

Can I wait to order Cold Sore Care until my cold sore outbreak has started?

All cold sore products work better the sooner they are started. Therefore you should have NextLeap Cold Sore Care available, and any other cold sore or fever blister product you want to use, so that you can start applying them immediately upon the sensation of the first symptoms.

How often do I use Cold Sore Care?

When using on its own, apply 3–5 times daily—or as often as every 2 hours until satisfied with the results

If using under another product, follow that product’s frequency instructions and apply NextLeap first, letting it absorb fully before layering.

Why does the tube feel empty?

The tube contains a full 4 grams of gel but it seems very light especially if the tube has been lying down. Store standing upright on cap for complete dispensing.
